CSC Training Day Tour 2022-23: Online Finale

Yesterday brought the 2022-23 CSC Training Day Tour to a close.

I enjoyed working with an excellent set of delegates, all of whom participated fully in a fine finale to the season.

The Training Day Tour will return in September.

Big KO

With 172 players, I think Park End’s KO Championship was our largest local chess tournament so far.

It took three weeks to get through all of the rounds but finally we were able to present medals to the top four players.

CSC Training Day Tour 2022-23: Middlesbrough

The final in-person CSC Training Day of the season took place in Middlesbrough yesterday on what may well have been the hottest day of the year so far.

We were very pleased to be able to utilize the brand new training rooms at Park End Primary (one of our best-ever chess schools).

The 16 delegates included teachers, TAs, library volunteers, club players, apprentice teachers and student teachers - an extraordinary blend, all of whom worked hard on the many tasks we set them, to produce a magical and thoroughly enjoyable day.

Catherine Lloyd was in the support role again and we had plenty of fun playing mini-games, discussing the benefits of chess, asking people to move around the room as chess pieces and a whole range of other activities.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a great success.

Here is a gallery from the day.

10th Teesside Individual Chess Championships: Gallery

Mr. Grundmann was very busy with his camera yesterday and this enables us to present a magnificent gallery from yesterday's event, chronicling the action from start to finish.
