London Chess Conference 2016

The Fourth London Chess Conference took place at the Hilton Olympia from 10-12 December, timed to coincide with the start of the 8th London Chess Classic.

This year's theme was The Didactics of Chess and the conference featured a considerable array of fascinating speakers from around the world.

John Foley and there rest of the conference team deserve great praise for putting together such an extensive programme.

I was there to chair three sessions and to present my own piece, entitled '28 Years on 64 Squares.' This was part of an extended session also featuring CSC tutor and trainer Sarah Kett.

I was delighted to see my two fellow Teesside tutors at the conference, as well as two teachers from Middlesbrough's Park End Primary School.

The conference, which was completely sold out, was an inspirational event. Best book early for next year's event, folks!
