Throston at ChessFest 2022

Throston Primary School had the longest of all journeys to this year's ChessFest. Travelling all the way from Hartlepool, their expedition involved a taxi ride even before boarding the train at 5.30 a.m.

Throston, who have been part of CSC Teesside since day one, have always been major supporters of our chess events. For example, some of their players and staff were present at the Westminster CSC celebration back in 2011 (as was Rachel Reeves MP, who was also at ChessFest this week).

Here is a pictorial report on Throston big ChessFest 2022 expedition, which also saw them earn two gold medals in the chess tournament.

Throston's players are always perfect ambassadors for Teesside and we are very proud of them.
