Project 50: Women's Invitation Tournament

Project 50, the successor to Project 30, started off in fine style today with a brand new event.

The First Project 50 Women's Invitation Tournament brought together a small group of people who were keen to experience a tournament for the first time.

The format was all-play-all twice, with 15 minutes on each clock. None of the players had used a chess clock before.

After the nervy first round, it was great to see the players using their time more efficiently and thinking a little deeper into the position each time.

Here are the results.

Round One

Katie 2-0 Catherine

Nicky 1-1 Nicola

Round Two

Katie 2-0 Nicola

Nicky 1-1 Catherine

Round Three

Katie 2-0 Nicky

Nicola 1-1 Catherine

Final Scores

Katie 6/6

Catherine, Nicky and Nicola all 2/6

Katie is the champion and everyone else shared second place!

Thank you, everyone. Further events are in the pipeline and it will be interesting to see what we can achieve together with this new social chess group.

Here are a few captured moments from a very enjoyable day with which to finish our report.
